Strip Repair: Important
Before submitting your strips for repair, please read the repair rules.
It's a lot of words, yes, but you'll likely find the answers to your questions here, and if not, we'll answer them.
Most importantly, when repairing, we always focus on your sole and select lasts (the pieces that shape the shoe) for each repair. Even within the same manufacturer, soles vary; for example, at Pleaser, we count 5-6 types of platform. Our last is selected based on platform length, curvature, etc. Therefore, we cannot guarantee comfort—we provide a repair service, not comfort.
Therefore, although it's extremely rare, there is a risk that the new upper of a closed-toe shoe may protrude a few millimeters above the sole. It may also protrude if the toe of the sole is severely worn (in which case a toe extension will be necessary, which is only possible with a sole-covered repair) and is paid for separately.
Conversely, if you originally bought loose-fitting closed-toe boots and decide to make them open-toe, understand that this extra space will be visible.
If you bought strips (sandals) a size too small, this may prevent you from getting the boots repaired, as there's a risk of them not fitting, even with an open toe.
Regarding sandals: we recommend making the upper, specifically the vamp that holds the toes, a size smaller than the size indicated on the sole (!), taking into account that leather always stretches and conforms to the shape of the foot. If your feet are narrow or wide, please let us know, and we'll adjust the size up or down. Resizing sandals two sizes for a new upper is a separate service that requires an additional fee, as the work is more labor-intensive: not every craftsman can mold the heel and forefoot on different lasts. To do this, you'll need to measure the circumference of your foot around the big toe bone.
If you ordered a size smaller than your current upper and request an even smaller upper, the difference from your actual size will be minus two sizes (!)
If the sole is cracked, the uppers cannot be salvaged. If the heel is broken, you can have a heelcut (heelless uppers), which automatically includes a sole re-fit during repair.
The shoe warranty is valid for 40 days from the date you receive the finished uppers (!), covering the following: peeling of the upper and lining, and seam wear. There is no warranty on silicone, nor on the re-gluing of strips, as our adhesive comes into contact with the factory adhesive.
If you're reworking shoes that already have a sole cover, it's important to understand that the original cover may come off when removing the upper or be damaged due to the original assembly technique.
Upper replacement takes 1-2 weeks, uppers with a cover take up to 4 weeks, and those with over-the-knee boots take up to 5 weeks. We handle every repair manually, so the repair time may be extended if complications arise.
We only repair our own models, all of which are available in our feed. Models from other manufacturers, or "I want the same as this one, but only if the heel is like this photo, the heel is here, and the knee is like this" - don't bother with us. To avoid confusion, please don't send us photos from other manufacturers. It's not about our principles, it's about technology - simply "hemming or adding" height, etc., isn't that simple. It's usually about designer features or a simple inconvenience for you.
Please send your specifications before shipping (!). We do not change them after acceptance.
Complaints regarding scratches, chips, or broken soles, unfortunately, are not accepted. We do not use equipment or machines that can damage used strips. A broken platform is the result of wear and tear and stress, nothing more.
All repair materials are in the "Leather in Stock" album. Black leather and suede are permanent items.
Bags, dust covers, additional straps, protectors, etc. Please do not send or bring them in. Otherwise, they will not be returned.
Please send the strips clean. We often see hair or dust on them, so please give them a little cleaning before repair.
By submitting your strips to us for repair, you agree to these rules.
Thank you for reading this far and understanding us!
